From a final-year research project to strategic added value!

For his final-year project, Cem developed a Cloud Exit Strategy for our organisation. The aim of this assignment was to identify the technical and organisational considerations that would need to be taken into account should a switch from a cloud platform unexpectedly become necessary.

The issue is more relevant than ever. Geopolitical developments and rising global costs are increasing the focus on our dependence on major cloud platforms (hyperscalers). With this strategy, we at Vesting Finance are taking an important step towards managing this dependence in a responsible manner. It also demonstrates that we are not only investing in new technologies, such as AI, but also continuing to take a critical look at our architecture and the risks associated with supplier dependency.

Cem looks back on the graduation project with great pleasure:
“What I enjoyed most about this assignment was the organisation’s tremendous commitment. The topic really came to life and I gained many valuable insights and different perspectives. By organising workshops and speaking to colleagues one-to-one, I was able to develop a strategy that is not only based on theory, but above all is in line with practice. It has truly become a strategy that suits Vesting Finance and the way we work as an organisation.”
